Case Studies

Oak Ridge, TN

The City of Oak Ridge retained TFG to undertake a Community Impact Assessment of the Department of Energy’s (DOE) proposed Environmental Management Disposal Facility (EMDF) for disposal of low-level nuclear waste from the Oak Ridge Federal Reservation (ORR). TFG provided a technical review of the Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study (RI/FS) for the EMDF. The review included a life cycle cost analysis and natural resource damage assessment (NRDA) associated with DOE’s preferred remedial alternative.

Harrisburg, PA

TFG was contracted by the City of Harrisburg to prepare its 2015-2017 Consolidated Plan, Annual Action Plans, and grant close-out reports. In addition, TFG prepared the demographic, housing, and economic assessment sections of the City’s 2015 Comprehensive Land Use Plan. In support of the City’s Department of Housing and Urban Development programming, TFG prepared the City’s FY 2016 HUD award-wining $3.714 million Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration (LHRD) grant. We also developed and managed a Sinkhole Summit due to two streets being condemned by the City of Harrisburg as a result of sinkhole development.

Mooresville, NC

TFG prepared a report of viable funding opportunities the Town of Mooresville and Downtown Mooresville Partnership could pursue in support of developing a more robust and vibrant downtown area. The report also includes suggestions on zoning and land use development options the Town may consider incorporating into its Comprehensive Development Plan in support of this initiative.
