Heidi Schott is Director of Grant Services at TFG.  She is an integral part of TFG’s Grants discipline and specializes in grants services for public agencies and nonprofit organizations on a wide variety of funding and program operations. Heidi has been successful leading, developing, advising on, and writing competitive grant proposals. Since joining the firm, she has secured over $30 million in federal funding from DOT, DOJ, HUD, DHS, USDA, and EPA on behalf of clients. Heidi also undertakes complex policy and research analysis on housing, public safety, economic and workforce development, education, transportation, environment and water resources issues.

In addition to her role at TFG, Heidi works as a Legislative and Policy Manager for the National Association of Towns and Townships (NATaT). NATaT is dedicated to providing America’s smaller communities, towns and townships, and other suburban and rural localities a strong voice in Washington, DC. The Association’s purpose is to champion fair-share federal funding decisions and to promote legislative and regulatory policies designed to strengthen grassroots local government. Heidi tracks and analyzes federal legislation and interacts with Congress and federal agencies on the organizations behalf.

Heidi received her B.A. in European History from the University of Victoria and her Master's in Public Administration, with a concentration in Public Management and Economic Analysis, from George Washington University. She is a member of Pi Alpha Alpha, the national public affairs and administration honors society.

ICMA Scholarship Named in Honor of TFG Founder, William Ferguson, Jr.

As TFG CEO for over 30 years, William Ferguson, Jr. launched the full tuition scholarship for ICMA members in 2011.

TFG is proud to offer a scholarship for the Harvard Kennedy School Senior Executives in Local Government Program to an ICMA member. Named in honor of TFG founder, William Ferguson, Jr., the William Ferguson, Jr. Scholarship covers the full $17,400 program fee.
