Daniel (Dan) Miglin joins TFG as a Grants Specialist helping clients identify and achieve their funding goals and managing all aspects of the grant development process including planning, budgeting, writing, submitting, and tracking grants. Dan has over 19 years of experience as a grant writer, administrator, and consultant for several local governments and non-profit organizations He has experience working in the fields of public safety, mental health, homelessness, housing, social and veterans’ services, and the environment.
Dan is a highly motivated professional with over 30 years of local law enforcement experience in North Carolina. In addition to his service in various sworn roles, Dan researched, wrote, and/or managed 168 local, state, and federal grants for multiple law enforcement and non-profit organizations totaling over $11 million to date and funding many jobs as well as needed equipment and training. Through grant projects he developed, Dan helped establish or strengthen several multi-disciplined community collaboratives to effectively address issues such as violent crime, domestic violence, opioid misuse, and people re-entering society after incarceration.
Prior to joining TFG, Dan was Grant Compliance Manager for a non-profit organization providing street outreach, emergency shelter, and supportive housing services for homeless individuals and families as well as victims of domestic violence. In this role, he wrote and was awarded federal and state grants to support those programs and ensured compliance with grant requirements. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Gardner-Webb University.
