WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program provides loans and loan guarantees to finance the development of railroad infrastructure throughout the nation. The funding agency seeks projects that will enhance safety, generate economic benefits, improve the railroad transportation system, benefit the environment, and/or generate improvements in service or capacity in the railroad transportation system or reduce system- or capacity-related problems.
