WASHINGTON, D.C.—The National Association of Towns and Townships (NATaT) is pleased to join the 2021 Small Town America Civic Volunteer Awards (STACVA) Ceremony on Monday, November 15, 2021. NATaT is a proud co-sponsor of the annual event which honors the extraordinary achievements of 100 public service volunteers from communities under 25,000 including several from NATaT member states. CivicPlus will award prizes to each winner, including cash awards, valued over $1,000,000. Other co-sponsors of the award are the National Association of Counties, National Volunteer Fire Council, Points of Light, and Main Street America.

Amanda Wylie

Grants and Policy Analyst

“Lasting success comes from lifting each other up and working together to achieve something greater than we could alone.”

Wylie is a Grants and Policy Analyst with the TFG Grants and Advocacy Divisions. In this role, she works alongside TFG partners to identify and secure federal, state, and foundation funding for communities across the country. Prior to joining TFG, Amanda served as a Zero Waste Research Assistant at the George Washington University, where she secured grant funding for reuse projects, developed a comprehensive waste management policy, and provided strategic recommendations to advance the university’s waste diversion initiatives in an evolving regulatory landscape. In previous internships with the City of San Diego and the Institute for Public Strategies, Amanda gained experience preparing policy briefs and guiding communications for public health and community engagement initiatives.

Amanda holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of San Diego and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration at the George Washington University. She is based in Washington, D.C.

TFG Monitoring Developments of Temporary Pause of Agency Grant, Loan, and Other Financial Assistance Programs

On January 27, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) under President Trump issued a memorandum titled “Temporary Pause of Agency Grant, Loan, and Other Financial Assistance Programs.” The directive mandates Federal agencies to temporarily suspend the obligation and disbursement of federal financial assistance while conducting a comprehensive review of programs and awards to ensure alignment with the administration’s policies and priorities. As part of this review, agencies are also instructed to temporarily suspend the issuance of new program solicitations.
