WHAT DOES IT FUND? Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) is designed to create and foster safer communities through a sustained reduction in violent crime. The program's effectiveness depends upon the ongoing coordination, cooperation, and partnerships of local, state, tribal, and federal law enforcement agencies and community organizations working together with the communities they serve — engaged in a unified approach coordinated by the U.S. Attorney (USA) in all 94 districts. Grant Due: FY 2021 Prosecuting Cold Cases Using DNA

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program provides funding to support agencies in the resolution of violent crime cold cases by providing resources for agencies to prosecute cases where a suspect's DNA has been identified, decreasing the number of unresolved violent crime cold cases. Grant Due: FY 2021 Sexual Assault Forensic Evidence - Inventory, Tracking and Reporting (SAFE-ITR)

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The SAFE-ITR program provides funding for agencies to gain insight into the scope of unanalyzed sexual assault kits (SAKs) and for managing the status of the workflow of SAKs. Grant Due: FY 2021 National Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI)

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The SAKI program provides funding to support multidisciplinary community response teams to inventory, track, and expeditiously test previously unsubmitted sexual assault kits (SAKs); collect and test lawfully owned DNA from offenders/arrestees; produce necessary protocols and policies to improve collaboration among laboratories, police, prosecutors, and victim service providers; provide resources to address the sexual assault investigations and prosecutions that result from evidence and CODIS hits produced by SAKs; and optimize victim notification protocols and services.
